We offer telehealth services as an additional or alternative option to office-based visits. Telehealth has grown significantly since the COVID pandemic due to its effectiveness and convenience. It has been around since the 1950s and can be as effective as in-person therapy.
Benefits of Telehealth:
- Saves time and money on travel.
- Provides greater flexibility, especially for childcare issues.
- Increases access to care in areas without local providers.
- Reduces the stigma of seeking mental health care.
- Is secure and confidential.
- Treats issues in the comfort of your own environment; helpful for anxiety, trauma, and depression.
Considerations for Telehealth:
- Services are only available to clients in states where your provider is licensed (currently Oklahoma only).
- Not all conditions are suitable for telehealth. It may not be appropriate for crises, substance abuse, psychosis, or suicidal/homicidal thoughts.
- You need access to a computer, tablet, or smartphone with a webcam and internet capable of streaming video.
If you have questions about telehealth, your provider will address them. If you choose to use telehealth, you will need to sign an informed consent form. This form does not obligate you to use telehealth but gives you the option. You can stop telehealth at any time and switch to office-based therapy if you prefer.
